What is the Level 2 counselling skills course?
It is an online Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, usually studied over about 7 weeks. It covers core counselling skills, theory and the ethical framework. Learning Curve Group states it does not provide accredited counsellor status. Funding may be available to eligible adults via the provider Pre-Check.
This course introduces counselling theory and the ethical framework that informs counselling skills. Learning Curve Group is explicit that it does not provide accredited counsellor status.
The current LCG page notes that these skills can also be useful for managers supporting teams, and that further study with face-to-face elements is needed if you want to progress towards accredited counsellor status.
Treat this as a foundation qualification, not a licence to practise as a counsellor or psychotherapist.
Learning Gateway is not the training provider. These courses are available through our training-provider network. Funding and final eligibility are confirmed by the provider.
